In the 16th minute, Slovenia had a chance to score first when Benjamin Cechko got the ball in front of the penalty area and decided to take a full shot himself. The ball flew just wide of the post and went out.
However, it was Denmark who took a 1-0 lead a minute later from a throw-in on the right, where Jonas Wind flicked the ball from the outside of his foot to Christian Eriksen, who chested it down before flicking it with his right foot into the far post in an amazing finish.
28 minutes, Denmark almost scored another goal. Christian Eriksen crossed the ball from the right into the penalty area. Cechko kicked it clear, but the ball hit a teammate and bounced back, grazed the post and almost went into his own goal. The first half ended with Denmark leading 1-0.
In the second half, in the 65th minute.
Denmark almost scored another goal when Viktor Christiansen passed the ball to Rasmus Hojlund who shot from close range, but Jan Oblak made a super save to save Slovenia.
However, it was Slovenia that equalised 1-1 in the 77th minute, sending out an early warning signal when Benjamin Cechko’s right-footed shot hit the post hard. And from the next corner kick, the ball went out to the left side of the penalty area, where Erik Jansa ran in and fired a left-footed shot that deflected off Morten Hulmand, causing him to change direction slightly, forcing Kasper Schmeichel to lose his rhythm and not be able to save it in time.
In the remaining time, Denmark tried to speed up the game to score another goal, but failed, so the game ended in a 1-1 draw, with each team sharing a point.
